Housing Disrepair Claim Specialists
Living in a home that needs repairs can be stressful. If you’re a council or housing association tenant, we can help. Resolute Legal specialises in housing disrepair claims. We’ll fight for the repairs your home needs.
Does it matter who my landlord is?
Yes, we can only help tenants who are rent from Housing Association or Council.
Will it cost me?
Your claim is funded by a Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA) signed by you with us. As long as you keep in contact with us and you follow our reasonable legal advice, if you lose your claim, you do not pay our fees. If you win your claim, our basic legal charges will be paid by your landlord. If we recover compensation for you, we will charge you a success fee which is calculated using our basic legal charges. Our Success Fee is capped at 30% of any compensation we recover for you. Our Success Fee includes VAT. If we advise you to issue legal proceedings against your landlord, we may also recommend that you take out insurance to protect you from paying your landlord’s legal fees if your claim is unsuccessful. This insurance is called After the Event Insurance or ATE. We will discuss ATE with you. If you choose to take out ATE, the insurance premium is payable only if you win your claim.
Do I qualify?
You are eligible to start a Housing Disrepair Claim if:
- You’re a Council or Housing Association tenant
- You’ve been reporting repairs for 6 weeks or more and no repairs have taken place OR you’ve been reporting repairs for 6 weeks or more, the repairs have taken place, but not properly
- The disrepair is ongoing
