We will discuss this at the onset of your case, when we are deciding if we are able to assist you. The question ever prospective client, needs answering, is:

‘How much will it cost me?’

We will go through all your options:

· You can pay us privately and upfront – this has never happened!

· Current Legal Insurance/Trade Union membership

· Conditional Fee Agreement(‘CFA’)/’No Win No Fee’

Here at Resolute Legal can offer to act for you on a ‘No Win No Fee’ basis. Most people decide to choose this option as it suits their needs

This is how it works.

If we win, (we like winning) your landlord will pay our reasonable fees.

If we are unsuccessful, we don’t charge.

All we ask is that you are honest and co-operate with us throughout your claim.

We do not ask you to pay and money upfront, and we will fund any experts (e.g. Surveyors) and any necessary court fees.

In return, if we cover any compensation for you, we aim to deduct no more than *25% (inclusive of Vat) as our reward or ‘success fee’.

In regard to Environmental Health Prosecutions, we can also offer to act for you on ‘No Win No Fee’ basis, but without any success fee.

By way of comparison, some other Solicitors take as much as 50% from you by way of their success fee.

We believe that is fair and proportionate arrangement between us for the risk that we might never get paid.

Importantly, this is because we have also forced your landlord to carry out those necessary repairs- the same landlord who previously has ignored you.

Legal Insurance- Before & After the Event (ATE)

We will check with you at the onset of any claim if you have some existing legal Insurance policy, which might cover any potential legal costs. However, in our experience, this often excludes housing cases.

ATE Insurance is an insurance policy taken out after a dispute has arisen to protect against the risk of having to pay the opponent’s legal costs if you lose.

Unlike many other Solicitors, we do NOT automatically arrange ATE Insurance for you at the start of your case – because its benefit is only applicable should court proceedings be necessary, which may never happen.

This premium may cost you between £400-800 – which many other Solicitors will also deduct from your compensation.

If we do need to commence proceedings, we will discus with you obtaining ATE at that time.

We have access to legal expense Insurers who can offer this service.

*Subject to a risk assessment as to the merits of your prospective claim
